Johnny on Keithan- I first saw Keithan playing at church and he was something to behold. I had never heard a drummer play so funky and strong. His playing was huge, intricate and playful all at the same time. I would go to church and sit in the front row when he was playing so I could watch him. After almost 3 years of watching and wishing, I got the chance to play on a tune with him. I was invited to play on a Bob Dylan song at church called "Saved" . It was a blues tune and the band played it like their lives depended on it. By the time we had finished rehearsing the song it was huge. Keithans drumming was like jet propulsion, it just thundered and pushed the band to new heights with each service. When I got the chance to talk to him he said to me.. "I'll make you a deal, when I play, You play! I said, I want you in my band. I don't think he took me seriously at first so a few weeks later I asked him if he would do the gig with me and Kevin. He said "you better believe I will." That is always a great response to hear! Keithan is a monster... I call him the Carolina Cannonball. He has been known to destroy a drum kit. In fact on Easter weekend we played together and he broke the skin on his snare drum and broke a splash cymbal and another cymbal cracked and to top it off, he played so hard he broke his own wrist!!! He is on the mend and will be ready to go for the blues fest.

Johnny on Greg- Greg has been playing for years here in town. Kevin spoke very highly of him as a person as well as a musician. We had the chance to share the stage together to do the Los Lonely Boys song "Heaven". Greg absolutely stole the show. I asked him to join the band and he agreed. Greg had been doing the club circuit for years and grew tired of all the baggage that goes along with it. He quit his band and hadn't played out for a couple of years. I am amazed by his prowess on guitar as well as his kindness of heart. He attends Eastlake Community Church with Kevin, Keithan and me and works in the childrens ministry. He adds a fire and a fullness to the band that was missing with just me playing guitar. Greg is a burner on guitar. I look forward to turning him loose on the crowd and watching peoples faces. I know he made my jaw drop a couple of times in rehearsals. This guy can PLAY!!!
Johnny on Kevin- When I first saw Kevin playing he was playing guitar. Real good guitar. I would watch him play and marvel at his ability to play. I asked Kevin to come down to my last gig with Sweet Blue Onion and sit in. He said he would come down but only if he could play bass. I had no idea he even played bass. He told me he used to play bass in a blues band and that bass was his REAL instrument. Well if he played guitar that good and it wasn't his first choice of instruments I had to hear him play bass. He came to the gig and we got him up on "I'll Take You There". He just drove that song like I had never heard it driven before. In the 9 years I had been playing that song it had never sounded this good. I decided I wanted to step out on my own with my own band and I received an invitation to play at a Gospel Blues fest in Canada, Kevin was the obvious choice for the bass spot. I called him up and asked him if he would be interested. He agreed to do it and here we are.
